Our Story

Beginning in 2007, the century-old Post Office was restored to its former glory as a a central gathering place of the community, now focused around great food.

In 1915, William G. McAdoo, then the Secretary of the Treasury, was commissioned to build the city of New Braunfels its first federally built United States Post Office. Once completed, the Post Office quickly became a first-class facility for locals to send and receive mail, conduct financial business in the Treasury Department, and as many have told it, “catch up on the news and gossip around town”.

It has been our greatest pleasure to restore this beautiful New Braunfels landmark, that was closed to the public for 25 years, back to its grandeur of days gone by. Take a look around and you’ll discover many photos of the construction of this building. Look even closer and you’ll find that many pieces of equipment and machinery from the original Post Office have been reused to decorate McAdoo’s Seafood Company.

At McAdoo’s Seafood Company we aim for your stamp of approval. Come visit us and see for yourself!

We have the perfect place to make your special events one to remember. With six on-site private event spaces, we have a spot for everyone! We also offer off-site catering. Fill out a request for a private event  through our Private Events page.
